Our neighbourhood was visited by a troupe of lion dance recently. There are a few chinese families living around here actually so normally this troupe visit the houses perform the traditional custom dances, this happen every year actually. So we all got out together and watched the performance, although the sound of the drums were really loud but its good to be involved and get to know other cultures.
Its very interesting to know about other cultures of course, and after reading it I found that this has been traditionally practiced for hundreds of years. The lion dance was believed to bring good luck and good fortunes to people houses and businesses.
