Cancer screening at JPMC

Hubby and I decided to go for this test, a drive done by JPMC to fight the disease. In Brunei, cancer is the leading cause of death therefore the Jerudong Park Medical Centre Sdn Bhd (JPMC) has launched this campaign ‘Prevention is Better Than Cure’ to address this issue. Also in conjuction with Brunei 25th National Day, the hospital offered a very attractive price which we cannot dismiss.

I've always wanted to do this test. As far as I know about 30% to 40% of diagnosed cancers could have been prevented. Although some people choose to be ignorant but at best we need to look after ourselves. Who else gonna do that if we dont do it for ourselves? We are living in such a polluted society, our environment is tarnished with lots of toxic therefore I think we need to do the prevention early. I always shudder when I heard people having cancer, its such a dreaded disease, its like a death sentences. Especially for those who detected their cancer so late. Its such a pity, some of those people left so early and so young. And some are mothers, leaving their husbands and children behind. Its so sad.

I have a few friends who had cancer and they are survivors but their journey were never easy. I am still following some blogs from cancer survivors too, so this subject is really close to my heart. It makes me think how vulnerable life can be.
So we signed up for this promotion which will end 31st March and we can redeemed or go for the test before 31st May 2010.
