A visit to Kayu Nasi Kandar

We thought we wanted to visit this restaurant after the renovation, expecting some sort of improvements to the menu and the ambience of the restaurant itself.  Well.. for me it still looks the same lol.  Except the ceiling where there are now downlights and some colours, pictures on the wall.  But I guess they wanted to maintain the concept so they prefer to stick to the original.  The only noticable difference was the food location, where it is now at the centre rather than near the door, and some lights added to it.  And the restaurant has a closed door concept now, whereas before it was kind of open and it got noisy at times since it was located around the same area where bikers hung about with their roaring motorcycle engines.  And with the closed door, we noticed it was less noisy since the door managed to keep the noise out.  And thats a good point!

I think the menu is also the same, except according to the waiter, they have nasi padang now.  Dont know what difference that make.  But I still love the tea tarik special, you know, the one with the gula anau. Its still heavenly.

The restaurant was just opened that morning and the staff were still busy tidying up the place, maybe there was a launching or something.  We dropped by there in the afternoon and ate some murtabak and the teh tarik special.  And listen to this people!  There will be 10% discount if you dine it (food only) until end of the month.  So dont miss the opportunity!
