Ease of doing business - I-Centre BSB

Good news! For those who are interested to enter into business...

The applications to get Miscellenouas Licence (Lesen Rampaian), Occupation Permit & Signage are now shortened to approx 10 days only!

Bravo.. an initiative was organised by I-Centre with collaboration with The Municipal Department. A gathering/presentation was held and opened to anyone who is interested to open up businesses in Brunei with no charge. Very good especially for those who were still inexperience in handling all the formalities like applying for licences.  A good turnout, afterall its free with free breakfast and lunch (always welcomed, hehe).

The presentation was done for 2 hours, followed by Q&A session.  Then there was clinic sessions by the 4 officers from the Municipal Department whom were willing to answer any queries and questions from those who attended.

Well, these shortened processes were first introduced in April but maybe its not been widely promoted so Municipal Dept organised this event to address that.

We were interested and attended this gathering this morning at I-Centre and they talked about and introduced these processes. It was well received and applauded since now they will process the licences quicker than before. Its interesting and yet to be seen, when they say the applications will be approved within 10 days and even shorter for simple businesses where it will take 5 days only (those so-called Simplified Applications).

Its about time the department look into this matter. There were so many complaints before where some applications took more than 6 months to process and approve. I know outside Brunei, it take less time to get licences and I think Brunei should follow suit.

Thanks to I-Centre and Municipal Department for this fruitful initative.
