Ramadan Ya-Kareem

Its the 10th day of Ramadan.

Where did all the time go?  It seems the time has flied by so quickly.  So far Alhamdulilah, Ramadan is such a blessing and we could do our good deeds in this holy month.  We have stayed home for Iftar until last night when my parents took us out and treated us to a seafood sungkai.  Lovely meal.

Feel so blessed to be able to enjoy the holiest month in our Muslim calendar.  Alhamdulilah.

Brunei Helicopter Crash

This shocking news prompted me to update this blog after a long hiatus.  I was shocked so as the nation.  We didnt get this kind of news very often but it was such a tragedy when it happened yesterday.

12 young cadet officers were killed when the helicopter they were in crashed at Ulu Belait yesterday.  2 were seriously wounded and admitted at the hospital.  It was such a sad moment for the families since today is the first day of the fasting month of Ramadhan.  I am guessing those who deceased couldnt wait to get home to be with families on this holy month.  Imagine how the families feel when they came home in a casket.  So very devastating.  My prayers going out to those who parished.  Hope they are now in a much better place.  Al-Fatihah.

At the same time I am so proud to be the subject of His Majesty who is definitely a caring monach, he was there at the base camp and at the hospital witnessing the arrival of the bodies and visiting the survivors.

Hommed Baga

I usually am not a burger fan.  For me burgers are greasy, bulky and a little too much for my liking.  I never could have finished the whole thing in one go.  I always surrender and give it away after a half bite. But today its different.  I've never tasted any thing like it!  Its so damn nice.  The burger!  I love it.

I came to know about this burger joint from my daughter.  She said everybody says its awesome and delicious.  She told me this joint has a branch in Anggerek Desa and she wanted to taste it for a long time.  But we didnt get to go there, its out of our usual route.

Then last week we came to know they have opened a new branch at Gadong, by accident when we passed by the area.  Wow.. good news indeed meaning the business is flourishing.  So today after the driving lesson we went there and bought two burgers.  They are selling chicken, lamb and beef burgers with fancy names.  Too bad I didnt remember to take pictures but if you are interested just go to their

We didnt eat there but had a takeaway.  Upon reaching home we didnt waste any time and then I remembered to take some pictures below.  They were good, really really good, although by the time we reached home they were no longer that hot and kind of misshappened a bit hehehe.

Even the name is funny.  Hommed Baga?  Such a twist right?  I didnt know exactly what it means, but I guess its Home Made Burger?  lol...

What a weekend - sad and happy..

We had such a roller coaster emotional turmoil all weekend.

First, its a shocking and very sad friday for us when we lost a young relative, only 30 years old and just given birth to a beautiful baby boy.  She fell into a coma for 3 days and passed away without gaining any consciousness. 

We were very saddened by her passing.  Such a beautiful but quiet girl. She left two little boys and we really feel so sorry when she didnt get the chance to hold her baby for too long.  And the baby will never know who his mommy was.  Allah HuAkbar.  We accept and redha with what happened.  May Allah bless you with all His Hidayah, may you rest in peace.

Then on sunday, we got to celebrate a wedding for one of my cousin's daughter.  Such a happy ocassion although we couldnt be too happy with what just happened a few days before.

But the wedding had to go on, amid all the saddest in our heart for the girl who just passed.
